New trophy culture by Victoria Willcocks


Trained in various art Medias and Theatre design, Victoria has a varied carrier working as a portrait artist both human and animal, sign writer, theatre set designer, film art director and other projects. However over the past 10 years she has concentrated on animal and bird commissions and personal collections. Her interest in the country side has given Victoria lots of material to work from and her latest collections include images from shooting, working dogs and birds of prey.

Hunting Pairs collection

This ongoing collection is based on hunting pairs, the dogs and birds used in the pursuit of certain quarry. Victoria still has several combinations still to add to this growing collection.

Shooting collection

Another young collection of worked based on the working dogs that Victoria gets the great pleasure of watching work, whilst she goes beating each shooting season. There are many more images that are yet to come from Victoria to expand this body of work.

Raptors collection

Victoria’s fascination with birds of prey has produced a collection of work based of the birds flown at the Hawk Conservancy, Andover. Her early work of owls was in oils on canvas, but more recently she added three pieces in graphite pencil of a 35 year old Tawny Eagle called Frodo. Victoria intends to produce more work based on her own photographs taken at the conservancy.


Alongside her personal collections Victoria also works on commissions, working solely in Caren d’Ache Pablo colour pencil, her latest work includes a Bald Eagle and Race Horse along with dog portraits.


Her early work from 1995 to 2015 was mainly as a wedding photographer and since 2000 as a Country Sports and Working dog photographer. Victoria’s photographic commissions have included working with the Royal Households at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle, Royal Ascot Race Course, amongst others, as well as being published in several Country pursuit magazines.
